Located in Taichung’s Park Lane district, near Calligraphy Greenway and Civic Square, we’re just steps away from cafés, restaurants, shops, parks and cultural spaces.

Taichung Railway Station is approximately 10–15 minutes away by taxi. Public buses are also available, making it easy to explore the city from here.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

  • Check-in is available from 3:00 PM onwards, and check-out must be completed by 11:00 AM. Please note that the hostel is closed to visitors between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM for cleaning. If you arrive early or need to leave later, we offer free luggage storage on your check-in and check-out day — just leave your bags at the front desk and explore the city.

  • There is no curfew — you are free to come and go at any hour. However, please note that between 12:00 AM and 7:00 AM, only elevator No. 3 stops at our floor (15F). The other elevators serve the shopping centre below and are not in operation during those hours. We ask that all late arrivals be mindful of other guests.

  • Yes. Free luggage storage is available on your check-in and check-out day, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM. Simply drop your bags at the front desk and head out to enjoy Taichung. If you need storage outside of your stay dates, please contact us in advance to check availability.

BOOKINGS & CANCELLATIONS

  • Reservations can be made through our official website or third-party platforms such as Booking.com, Hostelworld, and Agoda. We accept online bookings only — phone reservations are not available. Booking directly through our official website gives you access to exclusive deals including early-bird discounts, birthday offers, and multi-night perks.

  • Cancellations or changes made at least 3 days before check-in are free of charge. Cancellations made 1–2 days before check-in will incur a fee equal to 50% of the first night’s room rate. Same-day cancellations, changes, or no-shows will be charged the full first night’s room rate.

  • Yes. During peak season dates and every Saturday, a minimum 2-night stay of the same room type is required. If you only need one night on a Saturday, bookings open the preceding Monday at 12:00 PM (noon). Peak season dates for 2026 include Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, and New Year's Eve, among others. Please check our website for the full updated list.

  • Yes. A complimentary self-service breakfast is included in all standard room rates. Breakfast is available from 8:00 to 10:00 AM in three dining sessions: 8:00–8:40, 8:40–9:20, and 9:20–10:00.   • All shared shower rooms are stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Hair dryers are also available. Bath towels can be rented at the front desk, and toothbrushes and toothpaste are available for purchase on-site. Common areas are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, oven, hot and cold drinking water, and Taiwanese snacks, with utensils provided for your convenience.

  • Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel, including in all rooms and common areas. Power outlets are available in the common area. If you need the Wi-Fi password or have connection issues, please ask a member of staff at the front desk.

  • Each dormitory bed comes with a dedicated shoe locker. For larger valuables, we recommend using the secure storage at the front desk. Please ask our staff for assistance — we're available 24 hours a day.

PARKING & GETTING HERE

  • Star Hostel Taichung Parklane is located on the 15th floor of Park Lane by CMP (勤美誠品綠園道), in Taichung’s West District.

  • Star Hostel Taichung Parklane is located on the 15th floor of the Parklane (勤美誠品) building, at No. 68, Gongyi Road, West District, Taichung. From Taichung Train Station, the journey takes approximately 10–15 minutes by taxi or bus. We also offer an exclusive shuttle service — please check the Access page on our website or ask at the front desk for details and schedules.

  • From Taichung Railway Station, you can take bus No. 11, 27, 81, 107, or one of the buses in the 300 series.

    Get off at either:

    • Calligraphy Greenway (Civic Square)／草悟道（市民廣場） — approximately a 2-minute walk

    • National Museum of Natural Science／科博館 — approximately an 8-minute walk

    A taxi or ride-hailing service usually takes around 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • From Taichung HSR Station, leave through Exit 6 and choose one of the following routes:

    • Take bus No. 365 from Platform 11 and get off at Calligraphy Greenway (Civic Square)／草悟道（市民廣場）. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes.

    • Take bus No. 159 from Platform 13 and get off at Kuang San SOGO／廣三 SOGO（美村路）. From there, it is approximately an 8-minute walk to the hostel.

    A taxi or ride-hailing service is the easiest option when travelling with luggage.

  • From Taichung International Airport, you can take bus No. 302 and get off at National Museum of Natural Science／科博館, followed by an approximately 8-minute walk.

    Alternatively, take bus No. 555 and transfer to a bus in the 300–310 series.

    If you have large luggage or arrive late at night, taking a taxi or ride-hailing service is recommended.

  • From Taoyuan International Airport, you can take Ubus No. 1623 or Kuo-Kuang Bus No. 1860 toward Taichung and get off at National Museum of Natural Science／科博館. From there, the hostel is approximately an 8-minute walk away.

    You may also take the Airport MRT to Taoyuan HSR Station, travel by high-speed rail to Taichung HSR Station, and then continue by bus or taxi.

    Travel times and bus services may change, so we recommend checking Google Maps or the bus operator’s latest schedule before departure.

  • Yes. Parking is available in the shared Parklane shopping centre car park on floors 4F to 11F. Guests receive a discounted parking rate of NT$250 per night (from check-in until noon the following day), with unlimited entry and exit during that period. To register for the discount and settle the parking fee, please visit the front desk before leaving.

  • The hostel is located on the 15th floor of Park Lane by CMP.

    Only elevators No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 provide access to the hostel. After entering the building, take one of these elevators to the 15th floor.

    Between 12:00 AM and 7:00 AM, elevators No. 1 and No. 2 are unavailable. Please enter through the side entrance next to Starbucks and take elevator No. 3 directly from the ground floor to the 15th floor.

OTHER QUESTIONS

  • Yes. You are welcome to continue using our common area and tatami lounge even after checking out. Whether you want to rest, work, or simply enjoy the view over Taichung's skyline before heading off, you are always welcome to stay a little longer.

  • Commercial photography and filming inside the hostel are not permitted. If you are interested in renting our rooftop or outdoor terrace for a shoot or event, please refer to the Space Rental section on our homepage or contact us at info@starhostelparklane.com for more details.

STAR CAFÉ / TERRACE / PICKLEBALL COURT

    • Star Café Opening Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 17:00 – 00:30

    • Guest Guidelines:

      In-house guests are welcome to freely use the rooftop terrace. However, during Star Café’s peak operating hours, certain areas may be prioritized and reserved for bar guests with reservations.

  • Access Policy:
    The rooftop terrace is not open for general visits. Non-guests are welcome to visit Star Café, with a minimum charge of NT$300 per person.

    Reservation:
    To secure your seat, we recommend making a reservation in advance through our online booking system.
